Three National Buying Group partners from across the UK have expanded their offerings with new sites, extended showrooms and new website features.

All three of the NBG partners, which operate within the general building or plumbing and heating categories, have chosen to reinvest in their business and add value to the customer.

As active partners of NBG, the UK’s premier buying group for independent merchants, this continued growth is supported by the company’s access to NBG’s exclusive product deals, helping their businesses to remain competitive. In addition, the ability to connect with a network of over 80 independent merchants, in which they can sound out ideas and share business advice.

South East-based bathroom and plumbing supplies merchants, Excel Plumbing Supplies, has recently extended its showrooms in Reading and Hersham.

Excel Plumbing has also added 360° virtual tours of its newly-extended branches to Google Maps, allowing customers to view products and see the interior showrooms before visiting. Since investing in this technology, footfall to both sites has increased.

Builders’ Merchant Company Ltd is also experiencing a period of growth, expanding to four branches across East Yorkshire and the Humber. With three branches already operating across Scunthorpe, Hull and Rotherham, BMCo will open a fourth branch in Goole this May.

The new branch will have a separate showroom, trade counter and office facilities, from which BMCo will continue to provide civils, drainage, timber and heavy side building materials.

Duncan Thompson, Managing Director of Builders’ Merchant Company Ltd., said: “‘We are all extremely excited to announce the opening of our fourth branch. As a company we are focused on managed growth, and this addition supports that focus.

“We are looking forward to welcoming a new team to the site and develop their product knowledge, becoming the future leaders in the builders merchant industry.”

Connect Plumbing, which operates a total of four branches across Essex, is undergoing important development works on two of its sites. A new showroom will open at its Rayleigh branch this April and a major refit of its Laindon store is on track for completion in May.

Nick Oates, Managing Director of NBG, said: “It’s fantastic to hear of our partners’ successes both with the development of new branches and the expansion of existing sites. It’s a true testimony to all of the hard work put in by our partners to enrich their customers’ experiences and build lasting relationships within their communities. At NBG we are proud to support them through securing premier deals and business opportunities that help to improve experiences for both business and customers alike.”
