Get ready for good times, says business doctor

SCOTLAND: A business support organisation is urging construction businesses to stay positive and start planning for the coming upturn.

The GO Group has said that now is the time for businesses to look to the future and prepare to take advantage of the opportunities that will arise as the economy begins to recover from the recession.

Lesley Meechan, deputy director of Learning and Development, said: "I urge businesses to be optimistic. With some forecasts suggesting that the recession will be over by the end of the year, businesses must begin to prepare for the upturn. Those caught lagging behind will not only lose out on opportunities now, but also when confidence returns to the economy."

The GO Group offers a wide range of training and advisory services designed to help businesses grow and flourish through the recession.

"Our services are aimed at all sizes of companies from every sector and we also work in partnership with many public sector organisations," Ms Meechan explained.

"Our focus is on nurturing start-up companies in all sectors, helping them deliver growth and advising them on how to fully commercialise their innovations and inventions. We are committed to transforming business performance through leadership, management and staff development support services."
