TTF announces support for new timber event

Published:  22 November, 2010

THE MIDLANDS: The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) has voiced its support for the recently launched Timber Expo show which is organised by TRADA and is set to take place in September 2011.

Timber Expo is the only dedicated timber exhibition in the UK and will cover a raft of different timber applications within the built environment including timber frame, engineered wood and SIPs, to flooring, decking, wood protection and certification and much more.

John White, chief executive officer of the TTF, said: “The industry needs to get behind the Timber Expo as it is a fantastic opportunity to increase the use of wood in construction by showcasing why it is the only genuine solution for sustainable construction.”

Rupert Scott, TRADA membership and marketing manager, said: “We’ve been crying out for a dedicated timber exhibition where the whole industry can come together to share best practice and understand how timber can deliver a stronger, more attractive and sustainable built environment.

“We have been encouraged by the groundswell of support shown by leading names in the industry and would urge others to sign up to an event which we believe will help timber to take its rightful place in the construction sector.”
