Team Honeywell racing ahead in Funcup Championship

Published:  28 June, 2011

BRACKNELL: Manufacturer of heating controls, Honeywell, is proud to sponsor championship contenders Team Honeywell in the 2011 FunCup championship.

Team Honeywell have taken two wins at the Croft and Snetterton circuits, proving they are to force to be reckoned with and unstoppable to the finish line. A combination of great strategy and fantastic pitwork has ensured the team’s eventful wins.

The FunCup is an endurance race where teams have to continually complete circuits over 3, 4, 6, 8 and 25 hours for multiple drivers, with a minimum five mandatory pitstops.

Driver Neil Plimmer said: “We were very pleased with the win at Snetterton, the race for the championship is getting exciting now and the next race in Anglesey will be a crucial one for Team Honeywell as a win will give us a good lead in points”

The cars are all identically space framed chassis with either a 130 bhp VW Golf engine, or the more environmentally friendly and faster 170 bhp Audi A3 diesel engine, race brakes, five speed gearbox and fully adjustable race suspension.

The series will visit Brands Hatch in August and Oulton Park in November before the team head to Italy in November for the ‘World Cup’ finals.
