Andrew Donaldson joins MGM timber

SCOTLAND: MGM Timber (Scotland) has appointed Andrew Donaldson as its commercial manager. He assumes the role on 5 January 2012.
Mr Donaldson will be working alongside the MGM board of directors and will be involved in all areas of the business, including branch improvement, sales and the development of new products and new trading initiatives.
Managing director of MGM Timber, David Mansell, said: “This is a very exciting role, and one which we feel Mr Donaldson is extremely well suited to. We all know that Andrew will fit in well with the team, and look forward to working with him going forward.”
Managing director of James Donaldson & Sons, Scott Cairns, commented:“I believe Mr Donaldson will love not just the MGM business, but also the work ethic and team spirit. Since joining Donaldson’s in the summer of 2010, Andrew Donaldson has undertaken an 18-month management training programme, spending time at each of the Donaldson Group’s main trading subsidiaries: Donaldson Timber Engineering, James Donaldson Timber, MGM Timber (Scotland) and Parker Kislingbury.
Prior to joining the family firm, Mr Donaldson spent four years working at accountancy firm KPMG, where he qualified as a chartered accountant.
