LONDON: Carillion has the contract to build the £14m ARK Bollingbroke Academy in Wandsworth, London, through the Partnerships for Schools Contractors Framework. Work is expected to start in March, with completion scheduled for August 2013.

Carillion has won Academy Schools work worth more than £100m to date. The firm will also provide improvements for two existing academies sponsored by Teesside University at Thornaby Academy and Freebrough Academy.

The London Academies Education Trust selected Carillion as the preferred bidder for the new Aylward Academy in Edmonton, which includes the refurbishment of the existing school buildings and a new extension.

As part of the same batched procurement, Carillion will also undertake improvements and new build extensions to four academies: the Nightingale Academy in Enfield, Richmond Park Academy and Greensward Academy in Essex for Academies Enterprise Trust and the Colchester Academy for Colchester Institute. Work is expected to start in April and last for two years.
