Businesses damaged by power surge

PENRITH: A massive power surge on a Penrith industrial estate caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to businesses.

A Travis Perkins depot on the Gilwilly industrial was one of several business where computers, phone lines, modems and chip and pin machines were fried in the surge last week. Electricity Northwest is investigating the cause of the fault.
