HOLMES CHAPEL: Builder Bellway Homes has bought a 20-acre residential site in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire for £13m from property company Bluemantle.
The sale at Homes Chapel sees Bluemantle sell part of a larger 30 acre mixed use scheme which has planning consent for 230 homes and a mixture of commercial uses at the end of last year.
Bluemantle has retained ownership of the remaining 10 acre site, which fronts the A50 London Road.
OXFORD: Galliford Try's northern building arm has won the contract to build Oxford University's China Centre. Ray Willis, senior project manager at Galliford Try Building, will oversee the 6500sq metre building project which yesterday saw preliminary works start on the St Hugh's College site in the city.
BIRMINGHAM: Carillion Energy Services is preferred bidder for Birmingham City Council's £600m retrofitting deal to improve energy efficiency for 60,000 houses.
ERITH: Wates Living Space is to build a 620-house regeneration scheme in Erith, south east London for housing association Orbit.
GRAYS: Skanska is to start work immediately on South Essex College of Further & Higher Education new Thurrock Campus in Grays, Essex.
ESSEX: Thurrock Council is not extending its contract with Morrison Facilities Services to carry out repair works to its housing stock and return empty properties to a lettable condition.
