Denizen to build £27m hotel

SOUTHAMPTON: Wigan-based Denizen Contracts is to build a six-storey, 117-room hotel at Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

Denizen Contracts chairman Paul Bolton said: "This has been a challenging planning and design process which leaves us looking forward to the successful delivery of an exceptional venue at this historic ground. The project is anticipated to take 18 months to complete with work starting within weeks."

Specialist hospitality builder Denizen has secured £27m to fund the development, with the majority provided by the Co-operative Bank.
