Ridgeons recently welcomed nine employees to its esteemed ‘25 Club’ in recognition of their continued service. The new additions joined existing members for the Club’s annual dinner held at Chesterford Research Park, near Cambridge.
Coming together from a number of different branches, the latest members include:
Current member Terry Belcher, retired employee, received a special mention for his service of 30 years to the 25 Club committee. Nigel Haslop, commercial manager, also received a special mention for serving as secretary for 13 years and on his recent Lifetime Achievement Award at the Ridgeons recognition awards. Allan Coote, product group manager, was also thanked for his work as a committee member for the past five years.
Established in 1958 this year’s event saw invitees come together and meet with Ridgeons family members, executive directors, and family directors including group deputy chairman Johnnie Sam.
Each member received a personal welcome to the ‘25 Club’, from event host Gordon Ridgeon, before director Amanda Smith and group deputy chairman Johnnie Sam, presented each with a gift of their choice, an enamelled insignia lapel badge, a specially commissioned tie, a framed special service certificate and an inscribed pen.
Director, Mr Ridgeon, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome nine new members to our ever growing ‘25 Club’. It is so good to see that, on a yearly basis, we are welcoming more and more dedicated staff to the Club. The annual dinner provides the perfect opportunity for us as a group to thank employees, for their long service and continued commitment. As a company built on relationships, it is important that we identify and celebrate the achievements of these dedicated individuals. Well done to all the new members who have devoted themselves to our 103-year-old company for almost 25% of its life.”
The Club recognises the achievements of all Ridgeons employees - past, present, full-time and part-time who have accomplished over 25 years’ service or more, by celebrating their commitment at this special dinner. Throughout the year the principle objectives of the Club are to meet and promote interests in the general welfare of all members; foster goodwill, keep in touch with retired employees and their families, while also organising a packed calendar of regular outings and social occasions.
