April 2015 is a milestone date for General Building Plastics as it marks the start of the 25th anniversary year for the company.

With its head office in Rugeley, Staffordshire, General Building Plastics was founded in 1990 by Janet Sutherland and has grown over the years through adding key locations to its operation to include trade counters and offices in Shrewsbury, Walsall, Banbury, and Kettering. The company plans to open its sixth trade counter in Oswestry later this year.

“While so much has changed in the building and building products industries over the last 25 years, we have remained focused on offering an extensive range of high-quality products at a competitive price,” said Wendy Hill, director at General Building Plastics.

“The business has always been ambitious, which has driven our growth and expansion with the addition of our new branches at a steady pace. We have also embraced the opportunities available from the ‘digital revolution’, with our online e-commerce section of the business website accounting for over 12% of sales, as well as a growing number of followers on Facebook and Twitter too.”

Ms Hill explained that the business will celebrate its 25th birthday from now until the end of 2015, with a number of special offers, promotions, gifts and prizes designed as a ‘thank you’ for its customers and staff. She said: “We have many customers that have traded with us for over 20 years, and all of our staff across our office network are hardworking and committed. So we want to share our birthday celebrations with our loyal customers, and our amazing team.”

She continued: “There will be a programme of silver-themed promotions in honour of our anniversary, with prizes available including a 42” 3D TV, anniversary-branded clothing and special offers.

“We are delighted to be celebrating 25 years in business, and are as proud of our heritage and success today as we were when we started the business back in 1990.”
