Tippers Builders' Merchants has announced it will open a new branch based in Rugely, Staffordshire.

Due to be opened by the end of 2015, this new three-acre site will be the company's eighth branch in the region.

"For some time, we have been aware of the need for a standalone branch in the region, to enable us to better serve the local market," explained director Bill Tipper. "This is the start of the next stage of our expansion plans, and will allow us to offer a top quality, personal service to customers of all sizes, whether they are carrying out small DIY projects or building a major housing development."

The company already has seven branches in the region, sited in Lichfield, Nuneaton, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster, Uttoxeter and Tamworth.

The Rugeley branch will include a dedicated tool hire facility. While not every depot has this feature, Tippers is planning to open further tool hire depots within its branches this year.

Tippers is also concluding the purchase of a 2.7-acre bulk storage yard located near its Lichfield depot. This will enable the company to take advantage of bulk deal opportunities and extend its aggregates business. Other recent investments in logistics by the company include a new eight-wheel MAN aggregate truck, a new artic tractor and trailer, and a new wagon and drag vehicle.
