The annual Palladium Building Supplies Charity Golf Day saw a total of 80 customers and suppliers from Kingsbridge and Plymouth take part, raising more than £3,200 for a pair of good causes.

The participants in attendance at Bigbury Golf Club on 23 July were treated to near-perfect weather for the charity event.

After bacon baps and coffee were served at registration, the day started with a putting competition testing control and accuracy. The teams, each made up of four golfers, took their positions at starting pins ready for a 1pm start.

Light-hearted in-play competitions included closest ball to the pin, longest and straightest drive, most attempts to get out of a sand bunker and strangest shot.

The day continued with a charity auction that saw prizes donated by Palladium suppliers. These included golf days at Bristol and Kendalshire, a box at Old Trafford to watch a Manchaster United home game, a malt whiskey hamper and widescreen television.

The auction raised more than £3,200 to be shared by Devon Air Ambulance and a golfing charity nominated by Bigbury Golf Club.
