British Gypsum opens entries for 2015 National Trophy Awards

Published:  03 September, 2015

British Gypsum has invited entries to its 10th National Trophy Awards 2015, prizes for which are to be given at a ceremony in Prague next year.

The National Trophy celebrates craftsmanship and skills in traditional plastering and modern plasterboard systems, and is designed to recognise the contribution that contractors make to the construction industry.

The manufacturer of plaster, plasterboard and ceiling solutions is encouraging installers to enter completed projects in to one of the following categories:

• Plasterboard

• Plaster

• Innovation and Sustainability

• Education, Healthcare and Hospitality

• Residential

• Commercial (non-residential buildings, including leisure and retail)

The winners from each category will go on to represent the UK and take on finalists from around the world at one of the largest international competitions of its kind, the Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy.

Mike Chaldecott, managing director of British Gypsum, said: “The British Gypsum National Trophy is a great opportunity for UK contractors to show off the high-quality projects they have been working on and the level of hard work that has gone into them.

“The winners will not only receive recognition on a national scale, but their work will also be showcased on an international level – it’s a fantastic opportunity to raise the profile of their business.”

The Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy started in 1998. Norbord says there will be more than 350 attendees at the latest instalment of the biennial event next year, representing more than 33 different countries.

The deadline for entries is 30 October, 2015. To enter the British Gypsum National Trophy, or for more information, visit: www.british-gypsum.com/about-us/saint-gobain-gyproc-trophy.
