Schoolchildren from across Shropshire will perform the official opening of the new Bridgnorth branch of Tudor Griffiths.

Taking place on 23 and 24 September, the launch of the Chartwell Park branch is a celebration of the completion of the six-acre site.

Managing director Tudor Griffiths said: “The first day of the event is aimed more at our trade customers and we’ll have a number of industry experts on site to offer free professional advice, as well as some promotional giveaways. We’ll be joined by local MP Philip Dunne in the afternoon too, and we’d love to welcome both new and existing customers, particularly those who haven’t had the chance to visit us yet.”

On the second day, three school pupils who were selected as the winners of a garden design competition earlier this summer will join the Tudor Griffiths team. Winner Issy Lear from St Peter’s Primary School in Wem will get the chance to perform the official opening, along with runners up Olivia Hall from Shrewsbury High School and Noah Faulkner of Harlescott Junior School.

Ms Lear will also receive £1,000 worth of vouchers for her school to bring her project to life, and the runners-up will each receive £250 worth of vouchers to spend at Tudor Griffiths on landscaping materials.

“The second day’s celebrations are for our retail customers and there will be all kinds of children’s activities available including a bouncy castle and face painting, free refreshments, and a visit from the Dulux dog,” said Mr Griffiths. “We had such a fantastic response to our Design a Garden competition, and we wanted to make our winner and runners-up the stars of the show on this very special weekend.”
