RDT raises money for Christmas

Published:  05 December, 2016

The Rainy Day Trust (RDT) is asking for donations to its Christmas Appeal, which aims to support people going through hard times this festive season.

RDT's Christmas Appeal is designed specifically to raise money to enable the Trust to send Christmas hampers out to its ongoing beneficiaries, to make Christmas a bit more bearable for people who are alone, or who are struggling.

Some beneficiaries receive vouchers for their local supermarket, which they can use to buy the food they'll need over the holiday period. For others, hampers will be distributed. In total, the RDT will spend around £4,000 on the Appeal, and hopes to raise about £2,500 in donations to help towards this.

Anyone who wishes to support the Trust can do so through its Just Giving page on https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/RainyDayTrustChristmas2016, or you can donate by texting RAIN16 £x to 70070 - with 'x' being the amount you wish to donate.
