IKO PLC has been awarded an International Safety Award for Manufacturing by the British Safety Council. The award reflects the company’s commitment to protecting all its employees from the risk of injury and ill health at work.

The International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations from around the world, which have demonstrated commitment to preventing work-related injuries and ill-health.

IKO is one of 578 organisations to achieve an award in 2017 across the world. Winners are drawn from the United Kingdom, Africa, Asia, India and the Middle East.

Mike Robinson, chief executive of the British Safety Council, congratulated IKO on its success. He said: “Sensible and proportionate management of health and safety risks at work brings lasting benefits for workers, their families, businesses and society as a whole.”

“The health and safety of our employees and visitors to our sites is at the heart of our business,” said IKO UK Group managing director Andy Williamson. “We are delighted this has been recognised by the British Safety Council, which has been a trusted guide to excellent health, safety and environmental management for over half a century.”
