Area Sales Manager - Day Aggregates

Day Aggregates has a vacancy for an experienced Area Sales Manager to develop the merchant business activity in the Kent area. This new position will be responsible for all the commercial activity within the market area and focus on working with the Lydd and Gravesend depots.

Day Aggregates is one of one of the most successful suppliers of primary and recycled materials to the construction industry in the south east. The business operates 18 sites across Kent, Sussex, Surrey, London, Hampshire and Dorset and Gloucestershire. 

Key accountabilities and objectives include:

  • Managing builders' merchant sales accounts within the region
  • Working with the internal sales team based at Southampton office
  • Retaining and growing existing business
  • Gaining new business through pro-active marketing
  • Range sell the company’s and factored materials 
  • Promote the Day Group and its activities
  • Maximise levels of profit and margin
  • Be customer focused
  • Provide a high level of service to customers at all times.

Other duties:

  • Conduct any other reasonable duties/requests as required by Manager and Directors.
  • Conform with all company policies. 

Person specification:

  • Experience in the field sales environment
  • Good IT skills
  • Must have a pro-active and positive attitude
  • Attention to detail with good communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to use initiative in solving problems.

Hours are 40 per week Monday to Friday. Benefits include 7% non contributory pension. 20 days holiday plus bank holidays and birthday holiday. Discretionary annual and Christmas bonus. Bike to work scheme, corporate gym membership and childcare vouchers.
