Building product sales down in April but sales per day reach new high.

Published:  25 June, 2017

The latest figures from the BMF's Builders Merchants Building Index (BMBI) showed builders' merchants' sales to builders and contractors were 6.3% lower than in April 2016, due to there being three fewer trading days.

However, average sales per day in April were 9.3% higher than in April 2016, reaching a record high since the BMBI report was first published.

The Builders Merchants Building Index (BMBI) tracks builders' merchants' actual sales to builders and contractors, using GfK's Builders' Merchant Point of Sale Tracking Data. The BMBI represents over 80% of the value of the builders' merchants' market.
