Travis Perkins has announced its sponsorship of the first Inspire Women in UK Construction, Property and Engineering summit. The summit is taking place on the 6th of September 2017, in Manchester.
The Inspire Summit highlights the women working in the UK construction, engineering and housing sectors who are bucking the trend, reshaping expectations and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.
The event will see 400+ construction professionals (both female and male) come together to hear about the contribution that women in these sectors make, while offering free attendance to young women in full-time education.
Travis Perkins will be leading a panel discussion at the event, featuring women from across its group of 21 businesses who have joined from all walks of life, including ex-military, fast track managers and apprentices who are working their way up the career ladder. All of whom have a great story to tell about our business and the opportunities on offer.
Head of Learning and Skills, Louise Powell, said: “This is a fantastic way for us to learn about how others in our sector are taking on the challenge of recruiting more females into what have always been traditionally very male roles. We have women at all levels joining our business in what is an exciting time for our industry and for career development opportunities.”
