Ridgeons in Thetford has donated fencing materials to help a national dog rescue charity based in Norfolk secure the home of trusted fosterer, Marie Murfitt.

Ridgeons was approached by Safe Rescue for Dogs after Marie moved home and was unable to foster dogs as her garden was not secure. The donation, which included £200 worth of materials such as wooden gate posts, fence panels and cement mix, helped to build a new garden fence and provide the dogs with a safe home in preparation for the winter months.

Kelly Hare, Founder of Safe Rescue for Dogs, said: “It is our mission to ensure all of the dogs we take in are able to find a new home, particularly in the colder months. We are extremely grateful to Ridgeons for their generous contribution which has helped save some of the dogs from cruelty, neglect and ill-health.”

Jon Farmer, Branch Manager at Ridgeons Thetford, said: “As a major, regional timber and builders’ merchant and a company that is happy to support community projects, when Kelly came to us, we were only too pleased to help.

It has been a pleasure to have been involved with this fantastic cause and give these dogs a second chance in finding a welcoming home.”
