Award-winning BBC business journalist and broadcaster Joe Lynam will be speaking at the Builders Merchants Federation’s Members’ Day Annual Conference in September.

Lynam (pictured) regularly appears on BBC News, BBC Breakfast and Radio 4’s flagship Today Programme. He won the 2018 Headline Money Award for Business Story of the Year after exposing RBS’ mistreatment of its small business customers – a report that led to an enquiry by MPs.

In 2016, reporting for the Money Box programme on Radio 4, he won the Wincott Award for Financial Journalism for his work on fraud and phishing.

BMF CEO John Newcomb said: “Joe has a wealth of knowledge across business and the economy in the UK and Europe, and we are looking forward to hearing his take on the factors that will affect the merchant sector in the coming year.”

The theme of BMF Members’ Day Annual Conference 2018 is “The Future belongs to the Bold”. The business conference is followed by an awards dinner, which celebrates the achievements of young people working in the industry. Both take place on 27 September.

The BMF’s annual golf tournament and other social activities will be held on the previous day, when delegates will be able to look around St George’s Park, England football’s training facility, where Member’s Day is being held.

Encon Insulation is the headline sponsor of BMF Members’ Day Annual Conference 2018, and Marsh Industries and Monument Tools are sponsoring the awards dinner and golf tournament.
