Gorilla Glue has joined forces with The Brick to donate its products and to host community events and training sessions for the charity.

The Brick works with people who are homeless or in poverty or who may be facing a debt crisis, in the Wigan and Leigh area. It has several branches, including The BrickWorks, where experienced joiners work alongside volunteers and trainees to make furniture and to restore, recycle and upcycle used furniture to sell on to the public, with all proceeds used to run the charity.

Gorilla Glue has partnered with The Brick to ensure that the projects at The BrickWorks are all made using the best that the adhesive and tapes industry has to offer.

Gorilla Glue Europe, Assistant Brand Manager Leoni Brown said: “Gorilla Glue is a family business that prides itself on giving back to the community. We look to support charities, like The Brick, that provide an essential service to their community, for local people who need it the most.

“As soon as we heard about the upcycling and restoration projects that The BrickWorks was involved in, we knew that we could help, by providing the team with a regular supply of Gorilla Glue products, as and when they need them, to help with all of the projects that they work on.”

The Gorilla Glue team will also be helping with product demonstration sessions for The Brick’s trainees and volunteers, and will be working with the charity on a plan of community events for The Brick's new re-use shop.

Team Leader at The BrickWorks, Rachel Sharrock said: “We are so excited to be working with such a well-known brand like Gorilla Glue and having their support means we can offer more opportunities to our trainees and volunteers. Here at The BrickWorks we focus on supporting people to gain permanent long-term employment; Gorilla Glue will help us achieve this.”

The partnership with The Brick forms part of Gorilla Glue’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to support community initiatives.
