Guests at Rudridge’s charity pub quiz had their general knowledge put to the test, raising £1,000 for charity.

The groundwork and materials supplier hosted the quiz to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support at Silvermere Golf Club in Cobham. Topics included sport, history and science.

The teams comprised local businesses all over the South East, and the prize was choosing the charity that the fundraising total went to.

The winning team was The Pretenders (pictured) from Landmark Groundworks, who donated the £1,000 total to the cancer charity, which they said was close to their hearts.

The team members were Kyle Johnson, Kevin Lynch, David McCarthy and Dara Keegan.

Paul Duke, Director at Rudridge, said: “A huge well done to The Pretenders.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is an exceptionally good cause and I hope the donation will make a real difference to the charity.

“Thank you to all the organisers and competitors who helped make the night such a success – now it’s time to start brushing up on your general knowledge in preparation for next year!”
