A Stoke-on-Trent builders’ merchant is the latest acquisition to join Huws Gray’s growing roster.

Family-run Audley Builders Merchants is Huws Gray’s seventh acquisition this year and will be its third site in Staffordshire. It was established in 1969 by former Stoke City Football Club Director Maurice Nield as an expansion of his road haulage business founded in 1954. It specialises in bricks, landscaping and building materials.

This news comes just weeks after Huws Gray acquired of Ridgeons, a merchant with 44 branches, making it the largest independent builders’ merchant in the UK.

Managing Director Terry Owen said: “Following the transformational acquisition of Ridgeons at the beginning of October, we are delighted to complete this acquisition of the well-established Audley Builders Merchants.

“We look forward to building on the fantastic work that the previous owners have done here.”
