An online campaign by Jewsons to show its support for young people has won its creator three awards.

The Future Legends campaign was aimed at a young audience through Facebook. The agency that delivered it, On the Tools, won three awards at the recent Construction Marketing Awards for its work on the project.

Throughout the month of March 2018, members of the closed Facebook group, which boasts more than 2.7 million followers, were challenged to undertake 31 various tasks, including creating Malteser tape measure runs, singing their hearts out in ‘Vanpool Karaoke’ as well as spotting Jewson trucks.

A daily winner was selected, with all 31 winners, plus a friend, being invited to the grand final event which was streamed live across Facebook, with a chance to win a holiday to Ibiza for four people.

The results were an increased awareness of the Jewson brand by 54.8%, with purchasing at Jewson increasing to 51% since the campaign.

The judges of the event noted that the campaign was “an innovative approach to reach a traditionally hard to contact audience group” and “a well-targeted campaign which achieved objectives set, with good creative, perfectly suited to the target audience”.

Lee Wilcox, CEO of the On the Tools, said: “I am so proud of the team members who worked on this campaign.

“A huge thank you to Jewson. The Future Legends campaign was our biggest campaign to date and we absolutely loved collaborating on it.

“We look forward to collaborating more and winning many more awards together!”
