Grafton launches internet training academy
Published: 09 February, 2010
OXFORD: Grafton Merchanting GB has launched a ‘new look' online academy. Developed by Cortexa, it will deliver training to over 3000 Grafton staff, “providing a more focused and relevant experience across 600 branches nationwide", said managing director Kevin Middleton. The Grafton Academy will be launched at a series of staff roadshows around the UK in February. "Our online academy enables us to expand our commitment to staff training while at the same time reducing our carbon footprint. It is a win-win initiative,” Mr Middleton said. Training can be delivered any time of the day, anywhere where staff can access the internet. As well as product training, Grafton Merchanting GB is looking to use the academy to deliver video-based briefings to branch staff. Paul Kelly, category marketing director of Cortexa said: "Our merchant academies provide multi-media, online training from over 70 UK building materials manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch, Hanson, Makita, Jeld-Wen, Isover, Marshalls and Hepworth.
