Staff from Marley Alutec took part in a week full of activities to raise money for local chosen charity, Keech Hospice Care.

Twenty-five members of the Alutec team raised nearly £200 for the charity, supporting its work with children and adults with life limiting and terminal illnesses.

During the week of events, Alutec hosted a pool table and darts competition in its warehouse’s recreational area at the company’s head office in Bedford. The pool competition saw members of the Alutec team compete to pot all the balls in the fastest time, while players in the darts competition had to reach the highest score in order to win a cash prize.

Kevin Stanley, Head of Operations & Customer Services was the eventual pool champion, with Estimator Tom Elwell victorious at the darts.

To raise the all-important funds for Keech Hospice Care, staff donated money every time they entered a competition. Alutec will be donating funds to support the Luton and South Bedfordshire based hospice which provides free, specialist care for adults and children going through life-limiting and terminal illnesses, as well as support for their family and friends. Keech’s care helps people live pain and symptom free, not only at the hospice but also the local hospital, schools, care and family homes.

Finance and Administration Manager, Elly McWilliam, said: “We’ve recently selected Keech Hospice Care as our chosen local charity and when you look at the phenomenal work they carry out, it’s easy to see why we have.

“It was a great turn out from the Alutec team, and not only have we raised vital funds to help the hospice, but it was also a great team building opportunity across the whole of Alutec – we look forward to planning the next event.”
