Scott Parnell has agreed to support a new golf society which will help raise funds for children with cancer.

The Rae Rae Golf Society, which was set up earlier this year, will host monthly rounds of golf for its members at a variety of venues across Essex, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire. Each round will be sponsored by a different company and all funds raised from its activities will be donated to the children’s cancer charity, Rae Rae Trust.

Scott Parnell, which has its headquarters in Witham, has agreed to be the overall sponsor of the initiative and will have its logo featured on the society’s golf shirts. The company will also be the sole sponsor of two of the society’s events, taking place on Sunday 19 May at Chilton Forest Golf Club in Aylesbury and on Saturday 3 August at Wyboston Lakes Golf Club in Bedfordshire.

Paul Butcher, who is one of the members of Rae Rae Golf Society and works as Senior Sales Office Manager at Scott Parnell’s Milton Keynes depot, said: “We set up the golf society because there were so many of us who love playing the game that wanted to do something for charity.

“This is a great way for us to do something we enjoy and raise funds for a really worthy cause at the same time. We would like to thank all our sponsors who have helped make these events possible.”

There will be nine events in 2019 between April and November. The next Rae Rae Golf Society’s round of golf will take place on Sunday 19 May at Chilton Forest Golf Club in Aylesbury.
