Merchant buying group H&B has further strengthened its buying capability and expertise with the appointment of a new Group Category Manager.

Jamie Wyatt has been appointed as part of H&B’s continued commitment to offering its members the best buying in the business, plus added value to members’ businesses.

Wyatt will head up H&B’s light side committee offering negotiation assistance, managing the supply chain, and supporting the rest of the management team in its buying activity. He is also a member of the Plumbing & Heating Committee. He joins H&B with over twenty years’ experience in building industry procurement having worked with some of the biggest names in the building industry including Travis Perkins, Wickes, Bradfords, and McCarthy & Stone.

He said: “I’m delighted to join H&B right now and I’m looking forward to working with the H&B team and its members to promote best buying practice across the independent sector.

“H&B members are engaged, committed, and have a real appetite to work together for the common good. There is a real commitment to H&B’s deals and one of my aims is to gain even greater engagement in an even stronger Plumbing and Lightside category by supporting members and providing them with the tools to help them grow their businesses.

“We want to work with suppliers, not only to get the best deal for our members, but also to help the suppliers themselves grow their businesses through delivering the results that we say we will, and by building true strategic partnerships with them.”
