A team of 11 members of Elliotts Builders Merchant's staff is getting ready to tackle a 640-mile cycle ride across France to raise money for Naomi’s House and Jacksplace.

Setting off on 2 October, Team Elliotts will cycle from Ouistrehm to Mont Ventoux over 4 days.

The team are hoping to raise £10,000 for charity, with half of the money going to Elliotts staff-nominated Charity of the Year, Naomi’s House and Jacksplace. The other half go to Cancer Research UK and The British Heart Foundation, two charities supported by the event's organisers.

“The team has done some tough training rides across Hampshire over the last few months in preparation for the challenge”, says first time rider and Southampton Assistant Branch Manager, Dan Coombes.

“But the thought of raising money for a local cause has kept us motivated and now we’re all looking forward to getting over to France!”

Tom Elliott, Managing Director of Elliotts, say “At 640 miles, this ride will be one of the most physically demanding that we’ve undertaken, but we have a fantastic team who are up for the challenge.

“Raising money for Naomi’s House & Jacksplace will make reaching Mont Ventoux all the more rewarding.”

The 640-mile challenge, named the Mont Ventoux Challenge, is organised by Challenge Adventure Charities, which was founded by Elliotts’ own chairman, Stuart Mason Elliott. The organisation has raised over £4millionfor worthwhile causes since the late 90’s.

A fundraising page has been created for the event.
