BLACKPOOL: Following a strategic review of the business, Gledhill Building Products, the cylinder specialist, is creating 13 super depots with increased capacities which are better equipped to service the company’s extensive customer base.

Gledhill has invested over £0.5m in new equipment to produce its revolutionary new EnviroFoam cylinders to meet the October introduction of 2010 Part L Building Regulations.  Additional staff have been recruited for the super depots to cope with the company’s growing share of the UK cylinder market, both vented and unvented.

Chief executive Mark Foster explains: “Our historic depot network was built up over many years and as a result no longer reflects our current business model. With 13 super depots strategically placed around the UK we can improve on what we are already doing.

“The new super depots will be bigger and more efficient offering the customer service Gledhill has built its reputation on; quality products on a rapid delivery basis, developing new products and a commitment to the merchant trade.

“We have already extended our Blackpool premises to cope with the increased demand for our Duplex Stainless Unvented offering and this review ensures we can deliver increased volume while keeping costs to our customers down. We are continuing to invest in new equipment, staff and training to deliver a more efficient and flexible service to our customers.”
