SOLENT: Suppliers and customers of BSS Industrial are making final preparations for this year’s ‘challenge cup’.

This will be the third consecutive year that the fleet of 15 boats has set sail across the Solent for the three day race due to start on the 7 July 2011.

The BSS Industrial Challenge Cup was introduced to celebrate the strong relationships between BSS Industrial and its suppliers – with some competitive sailing added for good measure. With big names on board such as last year’s winning team, Wilo UK, this year promises to see an even closer fight to the finish line.

Guests will meet their teams at the Port Hamble Marina near Southampton where they will enjoy lunch and a briefing by their skipper, followed by an afternoon of practice before the real racing commences the following day.

Frank Elkins, managing director of BSS Industrial, said: “We work hard to build extremely close relationships with suppliers and customers so that we can develop the most mutually beneficial partnerships for all involved. The Regatta is the ultimate event to bring us all together, celebrate our successes and cement plans for the future.

“The sailing conditions last year were ideal and we are hoping that the sunny weather we have been having continues through to July. With many of our guests returning from last year plus some new faces, the competition is really hotting up to claim the top spot.”
