COVENTRY: Plumbers’ merchant Graham has secured a four-year sole distributorship deal with social enterprise Fusion21 for the supply of bathroom and central heating materials for planned maintenance programmes across the UK.

Supplier framework agreements are agreed every four years in compliance with OJEU guidelines, and plumbers' merchant Graham was awarded the material supply agreement following a competitive tendering process.

Fusion21 is a nationally-operating organisation with a strong presence in North West England focused on generating social value through cost efficient public procurement. This is tied in with social issues such as the creation of training opportunities and permanent employment, and the organisation works closely with housing associations, local authorities, contractors and suppliers to realise its goals.

The new deal will see Graham supply a complete range of plumbing products – from boilers to bathrooms – for social housing maintenance projects carried out by Fusion21 members around the country.

“The tender process was extremely rigorous,” says Ray Fell, national accounts director at Graham. “Fusion21 look to deliver real efficiency and significant cash savings for their members so we needed to be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver best value.

“As a social enterprise, it’s not just about cost either. They’re looking to work with suppliers who share their strong moral and environmental ethos and this was a key factor in our success in winning this contract.”
