COPENHAGEN: FEST (the European federation of the sanitary and heating wholesale trade) held its 2009 Congress in the Danish capital this month.

A full programme of speakers addressed the theme of climate change and energy saving and the effects it will have on both markets and wholesalers.

The BMF will be hosting the 2010 event which takes place in Dublin from 23-26 September when Sue Knight, lightside purchasing director of Grafton takes over the reigns as president.

FEST provides merchants of sanitary and heating with the support and advice needed to run their businesses in a competitive environment.

FEST is the European trade body to which national trade associations join to represent the interests of the sanitary and central heating articles distribution across Europe.

FEST wants to work with the national member associations, the European Commission, the national and European manufacturers associations and the national and European installer associations.

FEST is important to the industry because each sector – such as technical products distribution - needs a vehicle to represent its views, counter the views of others, and to be a focal point for communication.
