‘Trade store of the future’ unveiled in Hull

Published:  02 July, 2013

Ideal Standard and PTS have joined forces and responded to customer demand to create an exciting new ‘trade store’ concept for plumbing and heating installers in Hull.

Hull Kingston Rovers rugby league stars Rhys Lovegrove, Kris Welham and Liam Salter visited the new trade store last week as guests of honour for the official launch.

Located on Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, the trade store features a number of bathroom displays, complete with interactive information points. The fresh layout gives PTS customers the chance to touch and feel the product before they purchase.

Ian Benoliel, regional director of North East PTS, said: “Our belief is that the traditional trade counter layout no longer meets the requirements of the modern installer; they want to handle products and look through information in their own time to make the most informed choice possible. This branch is in response to customer demand and revitalises the traditional approach to add value to the customer experience.

“We’re thrilled to have partnered with such a strong name in bathroom solutions and to offer this experience to our customers. Ideal Standard has long-standing ties to Hull so its investment in the local area is a welcome one.”

On display at PTS Hull is a selection of complete Ideal Standard ranges including Sandringham 21, Alto and the latest range, Concept Space, designed to transform any space –however small or awkward. Ideal Standard has also implemented two pods: a showering pod and a brassware pod.

Alex de Courcy, director at Ideal Standard, said: “The branch’s transformation will set a precedent for the entire industry. We’re meeting the demands of the people who are buying our products and moving away from a purely trade feel. The new facilities will help both PTS and Ideal Standard stand out from the crowd and ensure the hub is a go-to place for the bathroom trade.

“It offers an entirely new approach to showcasing our products and will help builders, contractors and other trade professionals visualise the projects they are taking care of. We’re not just about mixers and baths, but the total bathroom solution, and the hub demonstrates this. We really want to engage with the installer community and are set to bolster our services further in a few months with the launch of a new mobile phone app and website purely for those in the trade.”

The new branch is located at Sutton Fields Industrial Estate, Stockholm Park, Stockholm Road, Hull, HU7 0XW. For further information on PTS call the branch on 01482 832500, visit www.ptsplumbing.co.uk or text PTS or SPARES to 83332 to find your nearest branch.
