Electrical wholesaler Newey & Eyre has strengthened its senior team with a hat-trick of appointments as part of a major corporate restructure.

Former commercial director Mark Fiddy has been promoted to the role of managing director after four years. Having joined the company more than 20 years ago, Mr Fiddy started out at Newey & Eyre as branch manager of Great Yarmouth and quickly worked his way up the ranks as project manager, national sales manager and area director. He has worked in the electrical distribution business for more than 25 years and previously worked for a specialist distributor in the oil and gas sector.

Mr Fiddy said: “I am thrilled to be taking on this new role and to have the opportunity to take the lead in a business which I am so incredibly proud of. These are exciting times for Newey & Eyre. The company’s culture to invest, innovate and raise the bar in customer service is what distinguishes us from the rest of the market, and I'm looking forward to propelling the business forward as we continue to grow and diversify our offer.”

Stepping into Mr Fiddy’s former shoes is Peter Elliott, who previously held the position of national sales manager. Mr Elliott has been with the company for more than 20 years, first joining the Graduate Management Training Programme and progressing through the roles of assistant branch manager and then branch manager in Bury St Edmonds, Cambridge and Nottingham. He has since held the roles of senior business manager, area sales and service manager, area director and cylinder business general manager.

“I am looking forward to enhancing the strong performance of the company,” said Mr Elliott. “With a clear strategy, unparalleled product offer and dynamic team, our aim is to continue to respond strategically to changing market demands.”

Finally, Eddie Featherstone has been appointed as regional sales director for the Midland region. Mr Featherstone brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the electrical wholesale sector, most recently working for Edmundson Electrical.

He said: “I am delighted to join the team and play a part in shaping the future of the company. Drawing on my years of industry experience, my aim is to both consolidate current client relationships and establish new ones throughout the Midlands region.”

All will be based at Newey & Eyre head office in Sheldon, Birmingham.
