Door hardware manufacturer PC Henderson has stressed the importance of considering the interior detail of a project to cater for all generations.

Following this year's Budget, in which Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne announced a £500m builders’ finance fund to provide loans for developers, PC Henderson’s UK commercial director Andrew Royle said: "We welcome the announcement, which is good news for our trade customers. What is vital with new housing projects is that a well-designed interior is created that caters for all homebuyers to provide a flexible space.

"The design and functionality of a home is an important consideration to provide occupiers with a comfortable place to live. Choosing the right fixtures and fittings can help houses meet the needs of all homebuyers."

Regarding the proposed Right to Build scheme, with £150m of finance to help support people who want to build their own homes, Mr Royle added: "With people considering building their dream home it's important to remember that vital space can be created through the specification of cleverly designed sliding door gear systems. These can help create a modern finish that is functional and flexible."
