In recognition of the growing demand for larger projects such as social housing and domestic newbuilds, Ideal Bathrooms has extended its contract department which specialises in the handling of larger orders for building project work.

Ideal Bathrooms’ internal sales manager, David Wilson, welcomes Kathy Tompkins to his team. He said: “Over her 13 years as a senior sales coordinator with Ideal Bathrooms, Kathy has earned a reputation among colleagues and customers for her commitment and helpfulness. Her specific remit in her new appointment is to drive forward contract business, which she is extremely capable of doing.”

Ms Tompkins will be the main contact for customers placing contract business.

Also joining Mr Wilson’s team is Charlie Kirby who returns to the proactive department after her maternity leave. Ms Kirby joins two other members in the proactive team liaising with customers offering special deals to the company’s customer base with offers specially targeted to individual customers’ business profiles and sales histories. The team also maintains regular contact with customers in support of calls made in the field by area sales managers.

In another appointment, Charlie McGuire has joined Ideal Bathrooms as operations manager, responsible for the logistics operation at all four Ideal Bathrooms distribution centres throughout the UK. Mr McGuire brings a great deal of experience gained over 30 years of warehouse management across a diverse range of products and operational activities for large companies including Stanley and Black & Decker.

Ideal Bathrooms’ operations director, Kim Kirby-Earnshaw, added: “The bathroom industry has changed over the last four or five years, notably with the growth in internet activity. In order to help our customers meet the challenges from internet traders and DIY multiples, it is vitally important that we continue to develop business strategies and have the experts in place within the company to meet the challenges of the marketplace at all times.”
