Timber Expo: Helping You Build A Better Business

Published:  04 August, 2014

At the heart of this year's Timber Expo is the Timber Buyers and Specifiers Forum - a dynamic environment for building business networks and bringing exhibitors together with the most relevant buyers in the timber market.

The Forum has a highly successful track record in creating new business relationships and facilitating productive meetings. According to the show's organisers, all participants in the Forum have a "strong desire to engage at the highest level with decision makers that have direct influence over procurement decisions".

The Forum will take place during this year's Timber Expo, at 7-8 October 2014 at the NEC, Birmingham.

The Forum team will organise a bespoke programme of handpicked supplier meetings with the appropriate Timber Expo exhibitors, together with relevant seminars and networking events to help fulfil buyers and specifiers immediate and longer-term project needs. The Forum provides the opportunity to extend crucial supplier networks and to find out more about the latest product innovations.

Timber Expo played host to the most successful Forum to date in 2013, with 74 buyers and specifiers attending from such high profile companies as Asda, BAM Construct UK, Engenuiti, Morgan Sindall, Travis Perkins, Sir Robert McAlpine and Sainsbury's Supermarkets - taking part in a total of 109 meetings with exhibitors from across Europe and further afield including Malaysia, Africa, Canada and America.

Exhibition benefits to builders' merchants who attend the forum include:

  • An online diary to accept, decline or request appointments
  • The most time efficient way to meet with potential suppliers from the UK and beyond
  • Sit in the comfort of the Forum and the suppliers ‘come to you’
  • Free parking, cloakroom and private visitor lounge
  • Invitation to the exhibitor networking party

Last year's participants testified to the success of the Forum. Niall McQuitty, director at Arctica, said the Forum was an "excellent way to meet the suppliers you want to see in a great environment", while Clive Mavir, senior materials buyer at Sir Robert McAlpine, described the event as "excellent".
