This August marks the 10-year anniversary of Tembé DIY and Building Products. To celebrate, the company - named after an African game reserve - will be offering competition prizes including a safari holiday and five iPad Mini's.

Since Tembé’s 2004 launch, the company has experienced year-on-year growth with a current turnover of £4 million. It now employs seven field-based members of staff and a team of 10 based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. The experienced team creates and supplies professional products to trade and DIY users via a network of wholesalers, builders merchants and retail outlets throughout Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

“The last ten years have been filled with challenges, achievements, rapid growth and new product introductions,” said Guy Malam, managing director. “We have evolved quickly and, while we’re proud of what we’ve achieved, I would also like to thank our customers who have given us that opportunity. I hope that we continue to meet your supply expectations during the next ten years."

Mr Malam continued:"Some of the key decisions that have been made over the decade that have contributed to our success include: relocating to Doncaster which enabled us to have our own warehouse and offices a year ahead of schedule; the issuing of shares to the Directors that brought a togetherness with key personnel; and the decision by Andy Baker to reverse wind Hippo Carpet Protector making it so much easier to apply, gave us a huge head start

on our competitors in our largest product group.

"As for the future, our objectives are: new premises by the end of 2016, target 95% product range UK/EU manufactured, continued reduction of our carbon footprint, double our product range by 2020, and quadruple our turnover in the next decade. Finally and most importantly, we aim to maintain the service levels that have got us where we are today."
