In July, Rudridge launched a new Community Project campaign. The aim of the campaign was to give a local charity, school, community group or project the benefit of Rudridge’s expertise, materials and labour completely free of charge.

An impressive number of nominations were received, which made Rudridge’s job of selecting a winner quite a challenge. In the end, however, Badshot Lea FC was chosen as the worthy winner.

The project captured Rudridge’s attention because for 10 years the football club, based near Farnham, had been searching for a piece of land to develop into a permanent home ground which will allow them to continue playing at their level. Having finally been granted planning approval, the development will involve a full refurbishment of the existing clubhouse, the erection of floodlights, creation of spectator seating, three new irrigated pitches and a car park as well as fencing and paths.

Paul Duke, branch manager of the Farnham branch of Rudridge, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Badshot Lea FC. We are delighted to be able to help this local football club with a project which has been 10 years in the making. With the input of our expertise in groundwork and provision of civil engineering materials, helping Badshot Lea FC to realise this project will make a big impact on members of the Farnham community for many years to come.

“On behalf of everyone at Rudridge, I would like to thank those who took the time to enter our Community Project appeal – we had an impressive response, with entries from many very worthy local causes.”
