IronmongeryDirect enjoyed a successful 2013 with record year-end results, showing significant increases in both turnover and profit.
The company saw a ninth consecutive year of growth, with a rise in both new customers and sales, and a turnover of £22.1m.
IronmongeryDirect has supplied architectural ironmongery to builders, joiners and shop fitters for 45 years, having been founded as a traditional ironmonger’s shop. It now stocks more than 14,500 products, and last year extended its cut-off time for next-day delivery to 8pm and introduced a free returns guarantee.
The business attracted over 53,000 new customers in 2013 and will continue to focus on enhancing the service to welcome even more over the coming 12 months.
Last year also saw the company get acquired by Manutan Group, strengthening its position in the UK market.
“These results reflect a strong year for IronmongeryDirect,” said IronmongeryDirect’s managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason.
He continued: “Our performance has been driven by focusing on what our customers want and we have reached out to new and existing customers via a more flexible ordering process. In particular, we have extended our cut-off time for next-day delivery, introduced a free returns guarantee, and built upon the success of our mobile site by introducing our new app to enhance our offering.
“All of this has taken place against the background of a highly successful and mutually beneficial relationship with Manutan Group.”
