Archwood Group, owner of Richard Burbidge, Atkinson & Kirby and Masons Timber, has announced the appointment of a new senior team, including Josh Burbidge as Managing Director.

The announcement comes as part of a strategic plan to enhance customer support, achieve long-term profitable growth for both the business and customers and accelerate their efforts on sustainability.

From 1st January 2021, Josh Burbidge is to be promoted to Managing Director of the Archwood Group, the 4th generation to lead the family business.

Having held several senior management roles since 2006, most recently as Flooring Director at Atkinson & Kirby, Burbidge will be applying his product and market knowledge to all three brands in the company, ensuring its strategic objectives are being successfully delivered.

He will be supported by a new senior team; Lee Burford (Head of Operations), Jordan Parry (Head of Sales, England & Wales), Elliot Tait (Head of Sales, Scotland), Craig Holt (Head of Marketing & Business Development), Hayley Scarratt (Head of Finance) and Jenna Bellis (Head of Human Resources).

Josh Burbidge commented: “Our core focus areas for the business are to ensure that our customers receive optimal service at all times and to continue to deliver innovative, high quality, sustainable products. The appointment of the new team is going to ensure our positive trajectory continues to support those customers who support us.

“Together the team will be focussed on bolstering the brands in their respective markets whilst continuing to provide our valued customer base with market leading, quality products and services for the long term. We will do this alongside our work with key suppliers, industry experts and governing bodies to ensure that we adopt an environmentally friendly approach across the board.”

In addition Tony Miles, the group's CEO, will step into the newly created role of Vice Chairman of the Archwood Group.

During Miles' three and a half years in the leading role, a series of significant developments took place, including consolidating all sites and significantly reducing the group’s cost base, optimising resources and capabilities for continued growth. In his new role, Miles will continue to develop relationships with key customers and suppliers, as well as supporting the senior team.

Despite obvious challenges faced with Covid-19, Richard Burbidge, Masons Timber and Atkinson & Kirby have performed well and have taken the opportunity to undertake a series of key developments, including two new websites launching November 2020 to enhance the customer experience and help modernise and strengthen their digital presence.
