Are you a driven sales professional with experience in promoting construction products into Builders Merchants, Specialist Distributors and House Builders?

If so, we are working with a leading supplier of building products who are looking to appoint an Area Sales Manager with responsibility for promoting their products in the North West & Yorkshire regions.

With a heritage spanning five decades and a reputation built on innovation and service excellence, our Client has established itself as a market-leading supplier of premium building products offered to House Builders, Contractors and Builders’ Merchants and designed for use at every stage of a building project.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager this is a full-time permanent field-based role where you will have responsibility for the sales of our Client’s full portfolio of building products within your regional area. You will be required to work closely with a range of customers and influencers and take control of enquiries and customer relationships within your area including Builders Merchants, Buying Groups, Distributors and House Builders.

You will need to ensure you operate to the highest standards specifying and selling ethical solutions that meet both the customer needs and the company's profit aspirations.

Specific duties would include:   

  • Achieve sales targets for your territory
  • Work closely and professionally with all internal sales, operations, and technical staff
  • Deal efficiently and professionally with incoming sales enquiries
  • Read drawings and price products accordingly
  • Provide onsite technical support and advice whilst working closely with the technical support team
  • Deal with customer product queries by telephone and on site
  • Assist other members of the team as required
  • Attend trade shows and exhibitions as required
  • Report activity using CRM reporting system
  • Maintain regular contact with new and existing customers at multiple levels
  • Ensure that all sales protocols always meet the highest standards
  • Prepare and present performance reports and presentations on territory performance
  • Work with marketing on customer campaigns and sales initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a similar role or extensive field-based sales experience
  • Knowledge of building products (roofing or heavy side ideal)
  • Track-record in selling to Builders Merchants and Buying Groups within the region
  • Experience in selling within a multi-product organisation
  • Demonstrate strong sales techniques.
  • Excellent people skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong PC skills to include the full Microsoft Office suite.

 

Territory: North West and North Yorkshire

Salary: Negotiable (D.O.E) + Excellent Rewards Package. 22 Days Holiday, Company Car OR Car allowance (£7400) Laptop, Mobile Phone, home office equipment
