The Company

Our Client is a renowned supplier of limestone-based construction & House Building products with a history spanning 30 years.

With a dedication to top quality custom support and continuous investment in new technology and design concepts, our Client has gained their reputation for offering the highest performing products that are able to satisfy the most demanding customer requirements.

They are now seeking an experienced business development professional drive sales of their specialist product portfolio in the North West and Yorkshire Regions.

The Role

Reporting to: UK Merchant Manager

Working as part of an enthusiastic and dynamic external sales team, you will be responsible for developing sales leads from new and existing customers across the Northern region.

You will be responsible for meeting set targets, generating new sales as well as growing existing business in one of the company’s busiest sales territories. Working within the sales team you will be partnered with an internal sales executive to support your efforts across the region.

Main Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales leads through strategic planning tools, telephone calls, CRM database, face to face visits, CPDs, exhibitions and internal and external lead providers, across a range of sectors both new-build and refurbishment.
  • Achieve agreed sales targets and maximise sales through customer visits
  • Build rapport and strong relationships with key influencers and decision makers in your region, selling the value benefits of products, services, and expertise to affirm the brand as their supplier of choice
  • Manage and develop the sales pipeline to track projects in line with the commercial strategy to grow revenue
  • Research and identify new product development areas to develop our Client’s brand by capitalising on current and future opportunities
  • Work with your internal sales consultant, to establish a robust sales plan to support achieving the set sales activities and targets
  • Develop a customer base and solid relationships through growing existing customers and introducing new customers
  • Deliver CPD presentations to a diverse range of customers to raise awareness of specification sand product offering
  • Liaise with merchants, builders, contractors, and architects to ensure that there is effective sales and brand marketing support.

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the ability and drive to work autonomously and take ownership of your role and territory.

Essential skills required include:

  • Proven experience in consultive sales within the construction/ building products sector
  • Proven track record of developing key relations with Builders Merchants and Contractors in the North of England
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant UK building codes
  • Experience in the use of CRM systems and analysis of sales and customer data.
  • Experience of Barbour ABI
  • Sales forecasting and pipeline management

Salary: Negotiable basic salary dependent on experience + Package
