The partnership once again focuses on the role of sport in helping youngsters to lead happy, healthy lives.
Bradfords Building Supplies has renewed its partnership with the Cornish Pirates for the new rugby union season, as part of its ongoing support for regional sports.
Following the success of last season’s inaugural Bradfords Community Cup, which saw some 250 school children participate in a festival of rugby at the Cornish Pirates’ ground in Penzance, Cornwall, the partnership once again focuses on the role of sport in helping youngsters to lead happy, healthy lives.
David Young, CEO of Bradfords Building Supplies, said: “Our work with regional sports teams is an important part of our efforts to support the communities we serve. The Cornish Pirates do much to encourage participation in sport from grassroots levels upwards and, as a local team that plays just yards from our Penzance branch, this is a good fit for us.
“We hope the second annual Community Cup is as successful as the first and are proud to be working with an initiative that gives so many school children from around the area the chance to take part in sport, with all the benefits we know that brings for health, wellbeing and learning important skills.”
Bradfords’ support for regional sports also includes partnerships with Somerset County Cricket Club where it sponsors the Pathway Programme to help grow future talent. The builders’ merchant also has a longstanding relationship with the Exeter Chiefs rugby team, where it hosts the Bradfords Community Cup, a tag rugby festival for under-8s, which sees over 800 children from the South-West participate each year.
Rebecca Thomas, CEO of the Cornish Pirates, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Bradfords back as an Official Partner of the Cornish Pirates for the season ahead. In addition to the valued support we receive from Bradfords’ Penzance branch, we look forward to building on the success of the last season’s Community Cup and to displaying the Bradfords logo on the team shirt which is always worn with great pride by players and spectators alike.”
Bradfords Building Supplies has more than 40 branches across the South West, including Penzance, serving the trades, home renovators and DIYers.
