We are retained by a leading and long-established Builder & Timber Merchant who due to continued success and growth are seeking a Branch Manager for their Branch in the West Midlands.

This role will require an ambitious individual who will be responsible in promoting and developing the branch and strengthen business connections in the area.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a career driven individual who will play a vital role within the business and continually look on ways of improving procedures and driving the Branch forwards.

Reporting to: REGIONAL DIRECTOR  

You will develop and manage the Branch and provide the highest levels of customer services, in order to maximise the sales and profitability, you will lead, motivate and support your team 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Regional Director to ensure all targets are met  
  • Ensure Branch is compliant with all Health & Safety  
  • Support, motivate, coach and help raise the performance standards of your team 
  • Understanding customer needs and requirements, research accounts, identify key players
  • Build both supplier and customer relationships to improve the sales and margin capability of the Branch
  • Ensure all sales orders, following up sales enquiries and delivery schedules and done quickly and efficiently

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Timber / Builders Merchants in a managerial position
  • Experience within the building supply trade essential  
  • General Construction knowledge essential & knowledge of the Construction sector
  • Excellent people management skills self motivated with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Experience of Team Building   
  • Effective communication skills
  • Customer focused with sound commercial skills.
  • Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
