COOKHAM: The ‘Flashforward’ Construction Forecast Conference, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Construction Industry Group, will focus on the state of the construction industry in the North of England.

The event takes place at the Manchester Conference Centre on 21 April 2010. Flashforward  will cover various issues including the geographical differences across northern England, the North-South divide and the prospects for growth.

CIMCIG chairman Ian Exall, commented: ”With the uncertainty surrounding the outcome of the next election and the prospects for economic growth, the Flashforward conference will present a broad macro-economic outline, highlighting the current drivers and pressures within the construction market in this strategically important area of the country.”

The conference will present industry perspectives from the public sector and selected client organisations. Speakers include Sir Howard Bernstein, chief executive of Manchester City Council, Phil Wakefield, managing director of Carillion Building North, Nigel Brook, managing director of Kier North West and David Partridge, joint chief executive of Argent Group.

This event will also be an opportunity for like-minded people to meet and network with industry peers. The event begins at 2.15pm, and ends a 6pm. It includes a 1.5-hour Chartered CPD Programme.
