MIDDLEWICH: Cheshire Concrete Products will begin manufacturing concrete blocks at premises in Llay, formerly occupied by Marshalls.
The company, which supplies merchants, says it is responding to growing demand for its blocks. The 10 000sq metre site is more than double the size of CCP's Middlewich base.
The £3.5m turnover business, founded in 1971, was part of Pochin's until 2006 when directors Jim Woodyear and Paul Blanchard completed a management buyout. CCP formed a subsidiary, Clwyd Concrete Products, to operate the new facility.
Mr Blanchard said: "We have increased manufacturing capacity to meet demand and we are also confident it will attract new businesses from the Welsh market."
